Né dans le Sichuan, au sud-ouest de la Chine, en 1991, Yuyang Liu a étudié la photographie en autodidacte à 16 ans. Il est titulaire d'une licence en histoire de l'East China Normal University. Il est actuellement basé à Shanghai et à Chengdu.

Ses images se concentrent sur le changement et la connexion des personnes dans une société en mutation.
