Yayoi Kusama is the undisputed star of contemporary Japanese art. Born in 1929 in Matsumoto City, she moved to New York in 1958, quickly becoming an important member of the avant-garde alongside Andy Warhol. Kusama is the most highly rated female artist in the world, with a crazy look and spirit. His works on the verge of psychedelism, hallucinatory projections, disturb our notions of space and reality. She has lived since 1970, at her request in a psychiatric hospital in Japan and continues to produce 89 years of her work.
