This Coke is Fanta is a deeply personal work that draws from the artist's childhood experiences, marked by homophobic insults and gender stereotypes. The phrase "this Coke is Fanta," commonly used in Brazil to insinuate that a man does not conform to traditional masculinity and may have homosexual tendencies, serves as the starting point for the piece. By using this expression, the artist exposes the violence of words while transforming them into an act of resistance. The work becomes a space of reappropriation, where derogatory terms used to stigmatize homosexuals in different countries are celebrated rather than endured. Through personal portraits and powerful symbols – such as the image of the drag queen wearing the Brazilian flag colors, which have been appropriated by the far-right – the artist highlights identity struggles and social repression. The portrait of the artist himself, covered by an image of a deer, symbolizes this hybridity and resilience in the face of social violence, reaffirming a strong and assertive queer identity.

___
