Hyacinthe Ouattara’s large textile works are crafted as poetic structures, exploring the connections between the visible and invisible, form and formlessness, within a richly layered universe. Each fabric piece, shaped with folds and creases that evoke the texture of skin, becomes a canvas where personal stories are woven together. These works unfold like visual poetry, combining familiar shapes from the artist’s creative language that blend and transform. Indigo blue threads through the pieces as a unifying element, symbolizing introspection and fluidity. The textiles, filled with emotional depth, take on a constellation-like quality, reflecting collective memory and the restorative powers of water and the forest. Through this interplay of material and spirit, the works create an immersive experience, seamlessly balancing the physical and the intangible.
