Overview
I'm here to save myself takes you on an introspective journey into the body and heart of Christa David. A journey questioning the act of solitude. A questioning that has taken on particular meaning during the global pandemic of 2019. Counting people, counting time. But what really counts ? A touching reflection on the world that surrounds us or that is disappearing at a time when we have to run, even though we had learned not to walk.
Christa David — " What happens when the world goes still in an instant, when everything is uncertain and unsafe and you’re only left with you and you. What then ? What matters then? "I am here to save myself" is one Black woman’s response to solitude and her reflections on the work and imagination and unrelenting faith required to survive, to thrive, and to begin again.
