Overview
Valentina Canseco’s sculptures Un reflet derrière une chimère and Variations 1 & 4 came together in a breathtaking installation spanning 13m in length, 5m in width, and 2.30m in height under the iconic dome of the Grand Palais in Paris. Installed as part of an artistic proposal by Poush, these works transformed the space into an unforgettable, contemplative exploration.
The sculptures Un reflet derrière une chimère are inspired by organic landscape, forests, waterfalls, and wildfires. The forms intertwine, morphing into chimeras, while dancing along the sinuous lines traced by the metal in space. Glass emerges as the material best suited to evoke the idea of transition: the stained glass created casts colorful shadows, themselves imbued with movement and transformation.
"Un reflet derrière une chimère" invites viewers to explore a space in flux, through a rounded yet jagged vision, an ethereal poetry of monstrosity. Valentina Canseco’s universe is defined by the deconstruction of the concept of power through color. Abstract shapes, true chromatic compositions, communicate to create a contemplative experience.
