Overview

In 2021, Valentina Canseco created a monumental installation at Saint-Vincent Basilica for the International Constellations Art Festival in Metz. Composed of black, yellow, and green plexiglass panels cut into curious, organic shapes, the installation was suspended in the heart of the basilica’s nave. Canseco, whose practice spans drawing to large-scale installation, and who is fascinated by self-built architecture and informal landscapes, offered her own interpretation of divine light striking the earth, rendered in a vibrant play of chiaroscuro.
