The works made from balls of yarn, which the artist calls “cœurs cousus” (stitched hearts) explore themes of protection and connection through a deeply personal lens. By stitching elements together to symbolize the act of safeguarding future life, the artist infuses each piece with care and intention. These delicate, memory-rich creations serve as symbols of ancestral heritage, rooted in the history of a village that has since grown into a bustling town. At the heart of the work is a reflection on the foundational stone of a place—the origin of being—captured in circular forms that evoke motherhood and the complexity of human existence. Through this process, the artist seeks to understand the essence of life, bridging the spiritual and the psychological in a dialogue with origins and the unknown.
