Thandiwe Muriu tells a story that spans time and place in her exhibition, "Every Bird Flies with Its Own Wings," at 193 Gallery in St. Tropez. Her images explore the theme of womanhood, utilizing color, texture and pattern to create a collection that is both cohesive and nuanced. Muriu’s photography is inspired by African textiles such as Ankara wax and Kanga fabric, featuring models dressed in patterns which match the backdrop placed behind them.
