To celebrate its 50th anniversary, private bank CBH Compagnie Bancaire Helvétique, in partnership with the Musée d'art et d'histoire de Genève, presented its collection of modern and contemporary African art at the Musée Rath.
The fruit of an ongoing commitment to artistic creation, the Au-delà des Apparences exhibition brought together nearly 80 artists from sub-Saharan Africa who lived part of their lives there, covering almost a century of production (1929-2024). Paintings, sculptures, photographs: the works revealed an expressive force, blending traditions, modern aesthetics and contemporary issues.
Throught this exhibition visitors could discover works of Thandiwe Muriu as Camo 27 (2021), Call me please (2022) andThe Queen's Speech (2023).
