Overview
The Shinji Nagabe’s exhibition, “El Pabellon Dorado”, was organized by the municpiality of Arevalo and curated by Aldones Nino at the Museo de Historia de Arévalo (Spain) in collaboration with Collegium Museum.

A golden fish mounted on the museum’s façade in Plaza de la Villa catches the eye of the spectator. Inside the gallery, visitors must remove their shoes before entering, where a suspended textile unfolds like a visual inventory of flowers, plants, fruits, and seeds gathered from across the globe. This assemblage reflects how travel, migration, and cultural intersections continuously shape our world, from ecosystems to what we eat. Each motif is printed onto fabric and carefully hand-stitched using the Japanese oshi-e technique, a method that remains central to Nagabe’s artistic practice.
