This series of drawings has been ongoing since 2025. Conceived as preparatory stages for the paintings, the works function as studies of composition and tonal values executed in monochrome. The first stage of each drawing takes the form of a digital collage created in Adobe Photoshop. The artist continuously builds an extensive image archive — gathered online, drawn from historical sources, or photographed personally — which serves as raw material for the compositions. Once the collage is completed, it is printed using a laser printer toner and transferred with acetone onto dyed A4 paper. This transfer then becomes a foundational matrix that is subsequently worked over with graphite, either in powder or pencil form, while certain areas are occasionally heightened with white pencil.
