Contemporary art : Francis Essoua Kalu displays his feigned naivety

"A palette of bold colors for an expression that may seem naive. Cameroonian artist Francis Essoua Kalu is exhibiting his latest works for the first time in a gallery, at 193 Gallery in Paris. Some twenty canvases reveal his signature blend of dream and reality. The layers of color model the bodies, without shadows, by combining flat tints of warm and cold hues." Oliver Herviaux - Le Monde
