With her camera, photographer Thandiwe Muriu sublimates black beauties

Thandiwe Muriu breaks the codes and reinvents contemporary photography, in total opposition to colonial imagery, which has often determined the perception of African women in the world. She has made himself known on the world artistic scene in just three years and joins the lineage of those who contribute to the reconquest of the African story and its image. Her models represent modern and powerful women who pose wrapped in fabrics such as wax or kanga and carry everyday objects.
